Foundation Support Specialists Volunteers with Habitat for Humanity
The Foundation Support Specialists (FSS) team has been getting their hands dirty for a worthy cause. As part of the companywide Build Together 2023 initiative, employees assisted in home builds in their local communities.
Groundworks®, the parent company of Foundation Support Specialists, donated $100,000 to Habitat for Humanity International to support long-term stability through safe and affordable housing. The partnership is part of the Goodworks by Groundworks program that encourages employees to volunteer. 4,500 employees across the country will have the opportunity to volunteer with local Habitat chapters this year.
FSS team members in Houston partnered with Houston Habitat for Humanity on October 7. Employees assisted in wall construction for the home on McCarty Street that will go to a deserving family in their community.
“The Groundworks team was one of our hardest working teams,” said Nathan Flores, Community Engagement Coordinator at Houston Habitat for Humanity. “They came in and were ready to help us achieve our goal of providing affordable and accessible housing to local Houstonians.”
The following week, the San Antonio team volunteered at a build site in Von Ormy. San Antonio Habitat for Humanity hosted FSS employees where they painted walls at the brand-new home.
The community service project was featured on KENS (CBS) San Antonio. Habitat for Humanity was grateful for FSS team members that were willing to help the San Antonio community.
