How to Know If Your Foundation Needs Help

A lot of homeowners in San Antonio and Austin, TX wonder how they can know if their foundation needs fixing if it’s underneath their house. Problems can indeed go unnoticed for too long, and then they become bigger issues. However, there are some things you can do to look for signs of foundation damage. Foundation damage usually occurs because of shifting in the soil underneath or around the house. When the earth moves, the concrete is strained and can crack. Large swings in temperature can also cause soil and concrete to expand and shrink, which could harm the foundation. Look for the following signs around your house. They can be early warning signs of more serious foundation damage.

  • Cracks or shifts in exterior brickwork.
  • Cracked Sheetrock or drywall inside the house.
  • Cracks or shifts in concrete sidewalks or driveways around the house.
  • Strange water leaks in the basement or ground floor.
  • Signs that a large tree’s roots are growing underneath your house.

Any of these should be cause for concern. Contact professional help at 210-267-8828 for an assessment to see if home foundation repair in San Antonio and Austin, TX is necessary.

We're ending the week with a successful lift of Ms. Ahrens' house. We installed 16 steel piers along three walls of her house and lifted up to 2 inches in some sections. Though we worked in and cleaned up some mud due to the rain, we thankfully did not experience plumbing issues. Thanks for trusting FSS with your foundation repairs!

Today we finished installing 16 piers for the Gohel family. The front of their house was beginning to settle so they trusted us to get the job done right! Some of the pier installations reached depths of 14 feet! After digging tunnels, replacing landscaping and sprinkler lines, we have successfully lifted their house. Job well done and thanks for trusting FSS!

This was a quick little project that only took one day. I'm pretty sure this is a record for the fastest installation and lift, too. We installed 4 steel piers on a back porch to securely lift it and the connected roofing on top. Since the porch roof was sagging and needed extra support, we provided that support and peace of mind with piers instead of just polyurethane foam. Thanks for choosing FSS!

We're finishing up a project in Marble Falls today! Usually when we're stabalizing a house the perimeter of the house is sinking. For this house, the center of the house was sinking requiring us to break through the tiles flooring to install 4 steel piers in addition to 16 along the perimeter. Fortunately, we were able to save some of the tile we pulled up and lifted the house perfectly!

It's getting really hot this time of year, but our crews are powering through with a successful lift and stabilization of Mr. Lynn's house. His house was settling along 3 sides, so we installed 22 steel piers to lift his home to it's proper elevation. We broke through rebar, concrete steps, and their wooden deck to install piers at optimal points. Thank you for trusting FSS with your foundation repairs!

We're out here in Del Rio lifting and stabilizing a home for Ms. Lidia. The perimeter of her house was sinking one inch and causing damages inside her house. Without stabilization, the sinking will continue and increase the damage. We installed 26 steel piers along the perimeter to lift and stabalize the house and were also able to maintain the landscaping. Thank you for choosing FSS!

For this project, we encountered a tricky situation in which the concrete driveway to our customer's home was poured with the slab of the house. The extra weight from this driveway was causing the garage and front of the house to slope faster than it should have. We installed 16 steel piers to provide lift and much needed stabilization to prevent future settlement and damage. Thank you for trusting FSS with your home repairs!

FSS is proud to help out a returning customer, Ms. Freund. We've previously provided foundation repair to another property she owns. We installed 16 steel piers to stabilize the foundation of her new house that was showing early signs of settlement. We were also able to preserve and reinstall some of her exterior stone work and deck. Thank you for your continued trust and confidence in FSS!

Today we are finishing a project for Ms. Davenport. She previously had concrete piers installed by another company, but when the house began settling again, she called FSS! We know concrete piers aren't a long-term solution for foundation repair, so we installed 22 steel piers to stabalize and successfully lift her house 2 inches to elevation. We are proud to help another customer and provide a lifetime solution for her house's foundation!
